I am constantly researching new methodology in glass work. This particular method of using powdered glass is quite new. It was not an existing art form when I was younger. These pieces are a question of experiment. They are made exclusively out of glass powder. There is no armature. There is no mold. The work is done directly on a kiln shelf and organically shaped. The shapes and forms are completely unpredictable and they are created by cutting into the powder prior to firing. Once the shape comes out of the kiln it’s results give me a direction of what I want to do with it. Having traveled and lived around the world, I have been influenced by the art forms existing in other cultures, specifically the work of the Middle East. My travels have imprinted upon me to remain open-minded. It has been a passion of mine to share my work with those who want to learn.
